Professional Formation of Nannies and Caregivers for Babies and Children of all ages

Duration: 4 months, once a week.

MODULE 1 – INTRODUCTION

A - ABOUT THE NANNY’S ROLE:
The evolution of the nanny’s role through the years – Keys on how to develop in a first interview – The nanny’s adaptation period to the job – What parents expect from a nanny – Personal appearance, care and hygiene - Obstacles in a nanny’s job.

B -BONDS BETWEEN THE NANNY, CHILDREN AND PARENTS:
How does the link between children, parents and nanny generates? – Difficulties in these Bonds – The role of the nanny in every family – The nanny’s role regarding limits; what happens with limits made by parents but not shared by the nanny?

MODULE II – EVOLUTIONARY DEVELOPMENT

A - FIRST YEAR (THE INFANT):
The newborn’s characteristics – Sensorial and Interactional skills – Nutrition – Baby colic – Third month’s smile – Eight month’s anguish – Different types of Crying – Sleep – Special care with the newborn – Means and strategies for the fomentation of the language development.

B – TWO AND THREE YEAR OLDS (AGE OF MOVEMENT AND MUSCULAR CONTROL):

Basic knowledge about the important of healthy nutrition in an infant – Feeding hygiene – Nutritional guide for each age.

MODULE V

SHANTALA MASAGGE:
Benefits – Basic knowledge of the technique.

MODULE VI

A - ACCIDENT PREVENTION:
Accident prevention measures by age, environment, and risks – Secure infancy (in and outside home).

B - FIRST AID:
What to do and not do in case of accident with children and babies – General rules during an accident – Scene evaluation – Situation diagnosis – Self-control attitude – Containment of emotional outbursts in an emergency – Recognition of conscious state of the victim or victims – How to activate the medical emergency service – Evaluation of respiratory and heart rate – Wounds – Hemorrhage – Burns – Fractures – Convulsions – Asphyxia.

C - CPR IN CHILDREN AND BABIES:
